New Hire Requirements
Available to attend employee orientation in-person. New hire orientation will include hands-on training for barista station, cashiering, stocking shelves, washing and packing produce, plus an overview of our company perks, policies, and expectations.

We're hiring a Market Manager to join our dynamic retail team! The Market Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Amber Waves Market, including supervision of Assistant Market Managers, and Market Associates. This position reports to the Executive Directors and is an integral part of Amber Waves leadership. The Market Manager’s goal is to generate retail revenue in accordance with the organization’s budget, while managing costs and labor and works to support other department heads including the Kitchen, Education, Experiences, Farm, and Development teams.
Core Responsibilities:
Staff Management & Development – Lead, train, and develop market staff while enforcing company policies and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Scheduling & Payroll – Create schedules, review timesheets for accuracy, minimize overtime, and manage labor hours.

Job Description:
Amber Waves is seeking an experienced and energetic candidate for the Market Assistant Manager position. This is a year-round, full-time position with plenty of room for growth within the organization over the course of several years. The Market Assistant Manager is an essential part of our retail leadership team and reports directly to the Market Manager(s). An ideal candidate for this position is great at building customer relations, passionate about food and attractive displays, eager to learn about business operations, and is a team player who motivates and inspires those around them.
There are ample opportunities for professional development and advancement within the organization. This job takes approximately 1 full-year to master. We are ideally looking for a candidate who is planning on staying within the organization for 2+ years.
Core Responsibilities:
Assists Market Manager(s) in daily operations of retail business as a key carrier and shift lead, opening and/or closing the market at least 2x per week.
Ensures that opening, closing, and side work task lists are completed and completing a daily report. Alerts with managers as issues arise.
Leads the retail team as a floor manager, overseeing store conditions, addressing guests, resolving issues, and supporting market associates with stocking and processing orders.

Job Description:
The Produce & Wash Pack Manager is a dynamic and fast-paced position at the heart of the farm. Playing an essential role in the post-harvest process, the Produce & Wash Pack Manager links the farm and harvest with our onsite retail market, kitchen, 250+ family CSA, and wholesale accounts. The Produce & Wash Pack Manager will report to both the Market Managers. This position will supervise the Wash station and Market Associates assigned to their station.
Core Responsibilities:
Coordinating the sorting, washing, bunching, bagging, packing, labeling, and distribution of freshly harvested produce in the wash station each day
Oversee retail floor management by assisting in creating and maintaining displays, including updating signage and pricing. Ensure displays are abundant, attractive, and reflect seasonality according to merchandising standards.
Receive, inspect, and check in delivered product to ensure quality and freshness according to our standards.
Manage inventory through daily communication with farm(s) regarding order status, changing availability, and pricing
Maintain sanitation standards of processing and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and good organization (coolers, wash station, packing line, dry storage)
Maintaining food safety standards in accordance with FSMA and company practices
Overseeing up to five wash station crew members and a farm apprentice daily

Amber Waves is seeking enthusiastic full time & part-time associates to join our Produce team for the 2025 season. Produce team members will fulfill back of house and front of house duties as needed, working in the market and/or in the wash station. This position reports to both Wash Pack & Market managers. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of customer service, a positive attitude and a passion for produce.

Prepare, organize, stage and maintain produce at each phase post harvest

The Farm Docent is an engaging and knowledgeable ambassador responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences at the farm. This role involves leading the Pick Your Own Flower Program, educating visitors about the farm’s history and current operations, cultivating meaningful relationships with guests, and confidently communicating with donors and supporters. The ideal candidate is personable, enthusiastic, and passionate about connecting people with agriculture and the farm’s mission.
Core Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction & Education:
Welcome and engage with guests, sharing the history, mission, and ongoing activities of the farm.
Conduct tours, answer questions, and provide insightful information about agriculture, sustainability, and the farm’s practices.
Perform hospitality rounds by checking in with guests to ensure they have a positive experience, answering questions, and addressing any needs.

Flexible schedules are available, including morning and afternoon shifts, with some weekend work required.
The Amber Waves education team welcomes up to 10,000 visitors to the outdoor classroom each summer, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, as educators frequently interact with the public. Maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting outdoor learning environment is a key responsibility.
Job DescriptionOur program primarily serves young children under four years old, while also offering engaging weekly classes for tweens, teens, and families of all ages. We utilize a science-based curriculum to foster a deeper understanding of the local food system. We are seeking passionate team players who are excited to share their knowledge creatively with the public, helping children connect with nature and learn about where their food comes from.
A key responsibility of this position is to assist lead educators in implementing a farm-based learning program that inspires children, families, and communities to connect with nature and understand the importance of sustainable agriculture.
Experience or a keen interest in farming, botany, environmental science, and garden management is highly valued.
Proficiency with Google Docs and the ability to quickly learn new scheduling software are beneficial.
All activities are carefully planned by our staff, following a weekly themed curriculum that reflects the farm's current season.
Educators may lead classes, present on farm topics (with full support), and ensure visitors to the outdoor classroom and kitchen receive a positive and engaging experience.
Extensive setup and breakdown are required for each class. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions and are required to wear Amber Waves branded clothing.

Amber Waves Farm seeks high-energy, detail-oriented, fun-loving team players/ educators to join our education team for the Spring, Summer & Fall 2024 seasons. We are looking for current teachers, assistant teachers, camp counselors, or educators with at least 1 + year of experience working with children in a classroom or outdoors. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Some weekend work is required.
Our program caterers mainly to young children under the age of four in addition to weekly classes for tweens, teens, parents and family members of all ages. Using our science-based curriculum, we are looking for team players passionate about offering the public creative ways to understand the local food system, connect children to the natural world, and teach children where their food comes from and how it is grown.Core Responsibilities:
The central focus of the position is assisting lead educators with the implementation of a farm-based, hands-on, experiential learning program for children, families, local school groups, and camps.
Interest in farming/botany, environmental science, and learning to manage and maintain a school garden is a plus.
Looking for team members who enjoy designing aesthetically pleasing crafts and activities made with natural, farm based materials while understanding a child’s point of view.
All activities are curated thoughtfully by staff members and follow a weekly themed curriculum designed specifically for the Amber Waves classroom to mimic what is happening on the farm seasonally.
Educators may be asked to lead classes, speak about farm topics (with plenty of support), and make sure visitors to the outdoor classroom and kitchen receive warm, quality engagement.
The Amber Waves education team welcomes up to 10,000 visitors each summer to the outdoor classroom and a positive, welcoming attitude is essential. Educators often interface with the public and are responsible for keeping the public grounds clean, safe, and neat.
All classes require a substantial amount of setup and breakdown. We work in all types of weather: wind, rain, heat, etc. Dressing appropriately is essential. All employees will be asked to wear Amber Waves branded clothing.
Spring & Fall shoulder months involve daily visits from the Amagansett School ages Prk-3-5th grade and large field trips from local schools starting April. Public classes are dialed back until Summer, and the work load is mostly in the mornings during school hours. Summer hours increase last week of June through end of August with the education team running up to 6 classes per week day and community programming each weekend morning.
Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Comfort level with Google Docs & learning a new scheduling software helpful.
1+ years experience working with children ages 1-13 either as a teacher, in a museum or outdoor setting
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
Solid written and oral communication skills and a desire to communicate effectively with the public, comfort level participating in group welcome songs.
Strong interest in working with young children in a hands-on fast paced environment
Position requires physical demands, including standing and walking for long periods over uneven surfaces, exposure to heat, cold, or wet environments, working in and outdoors with exposure to the elements, repetitive motion such as lifting, kneeling, or bending and carrying up to 50lbs at a time, with or without assistance.
Available to attend employee orientation in person on Saturday, May 18th, Saturday, June 15th, or Saturday, June 22nd, from 10 am to 4 pm. This session will cover an overview of our mission, values, history, and a farm tour. We will also review the employee handbook, elaborating upon expectations, code of conduct, policies, resources, and perks.
Available to work consistently June 17th - end of August
Requests for time off are limited during peak season from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Our Outdoor Classroom has many opportunities for creative exploration and the educator will enhance this experience by encouraging children to explore!Core Responsibilities:
Our Exploration Garden Program is open to the public Saturday and Sunday mornings now through the middle of November. We seek kind, warm, self-motivated, twinkle-in-your-eye-sort-of-people to consistently create a welcoming and engaging space for children to explore the classroom with their parents and caregivers.
Skills & Qualifications:•Good hosting skills and comfort level with parents, caregivers and children of all ages are a must.
•Tasks include, set up and break down of activity tables, organization of space and creative planning, answering questions about Amber Waves Farm and our campus.

Amber Waves seeks a full-time, mission-driven, and systems-oriented Development Associate to support development operations in a fast-paced and growing fundraising department. The role will report to the Director of Development to increase the team’s efficiency by building, improving, and maintaining standard operations and administrative functions. This person will be a self-starter, flexible, solutions-focused, and will thrive in Amber Waves’ fast-paced and collaborative culture, helping to increase the development team’s overall ability to raise funds to sustain and grow Amber Waves.
Stewardship, Cultivation, Fundraising
Manage donor relations, including stewardship activities such as thank-you letters, updates, and recognition programs.
Identify potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities through research and networking efforts.
Utilize CRM software to maintain accurate donor records, track donations, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
Assist in the planning and coordination of fundraising events, including logistics, vendor management, and attendee outreach.
Support and submit grant writing and proposal development efforts by gathering relevant information, drafting narratives, and compiling necessary documents.
Monitor fundraising progress, evaluate effectiveness of strategies, and make recommendations for improvements based on data and feedback.
Stay informed about trends and best practices in fundraising and nonprofit development to continuously enhance Amber Waves' fundraising efforts.
Assist in the development and execution of fundraising strategies to support the mission and goals of Amber Waves.
Serve as the development team’s lead on databases, developing knowledge and expertise in these applications through ongoing learning provided through application-based training and Amber Waves’s internal resources
Oversee donor site visit logistics, including coordinating team calendars and member speakers, developing runs-of-show and other site visit materials
Create and update development materials such as presentations, print collateral, and one-pagers, in collaboration with the rest of the development and brand teams
Generate data analytics for development leadership to guide fundraising strategy.
Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of impact data to demonstrate organizational success and donor return on investment.
Maintain donor records and fundraising metrics, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, funders, and key stakeholders.
Community Engagement & Events
Support the Director of Development and Executive Directors in hosting farm tours, donor visits, and community events.
Assist with event coordination, including logistics, volunteer coordination, and guest experience.
Represent Amber Waves at community events and networking opportunities to expand fundraising reach.
Preferred Skills and Experience

Interest in learning and growing within nonprofit fundraising
3-4 years of project management, operations, administrative, development, and/or non-profit experience
